GPR Basics (GPR-2)

Write your awesome label here.
Participants will learn the fundamentals of GPR, how to acquire subsurface data using GPR, the typical results from a GPR survey, and the key differences between various GPR units.
The course is especially valuable for those planning to use GPR with UAVs. It provides insights into optimal survey planning to achieve the best results.

For whom is this course?

Designed for beginners, it covers all the foundational principles needed before moving on to data recording and processing, which are explored in the advanced GPR training. If you have prior experience with GPR, such as conducting surveys for several years or completing a university course on GPR, you may choose to skip the basics and proceed directly to the advanced training.

The video course provides an explanation of the following:

  • The fundamentals of GPR signal propagation
  • The type of signal transmitted by GPR systems
  • How a recorded GPR profile looks and its key components
  • The different types of GPR available
  • Operating GPR, with exercises where students move objects under the antenna to observe changes in the signal
  • The typical data gathered through GPR
  • The basics of GPR signal propagation speed
  • GPR resolution and its importance

Video course duration

  • 3 hours
VIDEO COURSE
This video course offers a thorough introduction to the essential concepts of GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar) technology.

After completing the course, students may apply for a certificate of accomplishment issued by SPH Engineering
